Pine Villa is a classic stone villa on the edge of Loanhead, south of Edinburgh. The house is set in a peaceful walled garden with a southwest-facing suntrap and a sculptural stone fountain.
Outdoor tables and chairs provide a quiet space for both residents and families to relax and meet. Our residents particularly enjoy looking after the flower baskets, visiting the gardens, and watching the local birdlife.
Pine Villa is an exceptionally friendly, open house with strong connections to the local community and a warm, family atmosphere. With an excellent bus service and a private car park, it’s a real magnet for relatives, who enjoy taking their loved ones for outings to the nearby garden centre or Straiton shopping centre. We also organise visits to the local church and social clubs, as well as tea dances in Loanhead and barge trips on the canal at Ratho.
Our staff here are very interactive carers who enjoy organising parties and activities such as music and movement, as well as visits by hairdressers and beauticians. Midlothian Library also provides a monthly supply of interesting books and reminiscence boxes. There’s always something happening, and shy, retiring residents will find it easy to come out of their shells!
Pine Villa is a small home with accommodation for up to 19 residents in three double rooms and 13 single rooms. We also have communal spaces, quiet snugs and secluded garden areas which are open to residents and visitors.
