Haugh House is a small, friendly residential care home in the heart of Stockbridge. It’s just a stone’s throw from local shops, post office and bus stop, and provides spacious, modern, purpose-built accommodation for ten residents within a vibrant Edinburgh community.
Haugh House lounge and dining room are beautifully designed open plan, with muted décor and a peaceful, relaxing ambience. The lounge overlooks the walkway along the River of Leith, and residents enjoy spending time in our lovely outdoor space in the summer.
The rooms are unusually generous-sized, with en suite shower rooms and their own kitchen areas with fridge and tea-making facilities, so residents can enjoy independent living and welcome visitors in their rooms.
The home has a strong community spirit. In keeping with Mansfield Care’s resident-centred ethos, residents are encouraged to access nearby activities independently if they wish, and supported to join in local day clubs and other interests. Other residents prefer to enjoy the privacy of their rooms, and reading and watching films.
The Haugh House residents have also formed their own social committee to plan outings and activities, with an in-house programme including games, arts and crafts and poetry, as well as library visits. Local ministers visit individual residents, and residents also have links with Stockbridge Parish Church, and attend its primary school Christmas concert.
Currently, Haugh House has ten ground-floor rooms for individual residents, with plans for five upstairs rooms to be converted next year to the same spacious, high-quality standard.
