Each Mansfield Care Home is fitted with special aids and equipment, including:
- Assisted bath seats
- Special cutlery
- Pressure-relieving mattresses
- Special beds (if required)
- Moving and handling aids
- Nurse call systems
as well as state-of-the-art fire safety equipment and procedures.
Each care home also offers residents a programme of activities, as well as the following support services:
Most of our residents are registered with our local surgery, to provide a more efficient service and continuity of care.
Our trained nursing staff dispense medication, and we have a contract with a pharmacist who supplies all residents’ medication.
Our hairdresser visits the care home every week, and is available to all residents.
Opticians, Dentists and Chiropodists
We have regular visits from opticians, dentists and chiropodists who are experienced in helping the elderly and people with dementia.
We respect our residents’ religious beliefs, and have good links to local churches. We offer a friendly monthly communion service at all our care homes, which is open to residents and their relatives.
We have an open door policy, and encourage relatives and friends to get actively involved. All our care homes have snug areas and gardens that are open to visitors, and relatives and friends are very welcome to dine with their loved one.
Our care homes offer an in-house laundry service. We maintain property lists for each resident, and would ask you to help by ensuring personal items are clearly labelled, machine washable to 60 degrees and colourfast.
General and Clinical Waste
We have a contract for weekly collection by a specialist disposal company for general and clinical waste, in line with our Certification of Registration under the Control of Pollution Act 1989.
