assessment and admission

We want Mansfield Care Homes to be the right choice for you and your loved one. That’s why it’s important for you to visit the home and experience our exceptional care standards for yourselves.

A lunch or tea-time visit will give you a sense of our friendly atmosphere, and a chance to meet other residents and enjoy the cuisine. Visitors often tell us they are delighted and reassured when they see how much care we devote to creating welcoming, comfortable surroundings.

We appreciate that moving into residential care can be a difficult decision, and new residents are welcome to stay with us on a trial basis before deciding whether our home is right for them in the longer term.

We also want to be sure that your loved one will fit in and feel at home living with us. Before someone can join us, we visit them at home or in hospital so that we can meet them and assess their medical and support needs, in discussion with nursing and social care specialists.

We review placements after six weeks, and again after six months. We also review our residents’ care plans every month, to make sure they continue to receive the best possible service if their health or circumstances change.
